This film was a waste of 2 hours. Maria Bello was awful - her accent seemed to swing from plummy to Mary Poppins-cockney and her lines wer poor. There wasn't enough Jet Li and Michelle Yeoh and too much off the Yetis. I loved the first two films but was very dissappointed with this one.

I must agree with many of the comments....sadly Maria Bello was a poor replacement for Rachel, her plum in mouth English just didn't sound right. (She was trying to hard - but surely the director should have told her that!) Alex sorry to say had more about him in the Mummy Returns. Jet Li walked through his part with ease. Whilst Brendan and John were just along for the ride....as were the audience. If you don't expect too much you will not be disappointed. 2 1/2 would be my score but you don't get the option.

Awful film! how did it beat batman this week at the UK box office? So many times did they try to be funny but it did not work. Shame.

I liked it, but as a huge fan of the first film I was disappointed with the choice of Maria Bello as Evelyn - I thought she had a lot to live up to, filling Rachel Weisz's shoes, and although she made a good attempt, she just ended up looking foolish. There were good parts - John Hannah was hilarious as usual - but other parts were not as good - Alex irritated me to the point I wanted to throw my Coke at the cinema screen. There were a few continuity errors that made me cringe, and as for the yetis - what?!! But overall, a good film, and I was pleased that they didn't do what they did in 'the Mummy Returns' and recycle the same old story, but I didn't think this story was as original as 'The Mummy'.

You either like this movie a little or hate it, a lot. I liked it a little, but it was no where near as good as the first two, which i could watch over and over again, this one i would watch maybe once every 5 months. I would have prefered it if the movie was set in egypt, but then it would be like the first two all over again.. Maria Bello was not a very good actress (imo), she was a bit to mumsy, i say: Bring back Arnold Vosloo-Imhotep and Rachel Weisz-The real Evelyn. (I have never liked Alex, and he was very annoying in the movie).

It was just "OK" as far as I'm concerned. If you're looking for something as good as the first film then forget it and save your money. It really wasn't worth a trip to the cinema in my opinion, I could have easily waited for it to hit the TV. The humour is lacking, consisting mainly of poor one liners. The action was there but relied heavily on CGI to deliver it and the storyline felt pretty flat. Most of all, the film was missing Rachel Weisz with Maria Bello giving a pretty lacklustre protrayal of Evy. The film also felt lacking in location to me, China just didn't have the same feel that the original did. After all people mostly associate Egypt with mummies, hence its location for the first films. Based on this release, it does not make me too excited about the forthcoming films in the franchise. If it can't be given some extra life it needs to be left to die. It reminds me of the decline of the Matrix series of films, which started off really well then tapered off the longer it went on. At least they stopped at the 3rd one, which is really what should happen here based on this poor effort. At least Rachel Weisz had the sense to avoid this film, which is really what I should have done. :D

I couldn't disagree with the writer more. I loved the movie! Brendan Fraser is fabulous! This is a great, fun movie along with the othe Mummy movies. If you are a fan of the Mummy movies and Brendan Fraser then you will love this movie. If you try and take it too seriously...then I guess you will not. I look forward to a rumored 4th Mummy movie!

I walked out, stupid stupid movie. Knew i wasn't going to like because of the recasting of Evie, Rachel Weiz owned that character, and Rachel and Brendan Frazer had great chemistry that had me hooked on the first 2 films. Such as waste of money. Ours and the production company's

Complete rubbish...absolute waste of time..such a shame because the first two were really good!

I went to see this last night and thought it was really good. Maria Bello really got on my nerves, though, and I did miss Rachel Weisz in the part, but hey, she made the decision to leave. The previous two were better, but I really enjoyed this instalment. I think it looked more at the Connell family and what they are about rather than the mummies themselves, though.

Ok so it wasnt the best movie in the worl but thats the point isnt it? its not meant to be taken seriously hell it doesnt take itself seriously!!!!! and whoever wrote this review clearly didnt even bother to watch the actul movie cos your claiming that the emperor and zi yuan were married um thats nto true its not even close!!! people just need to relax a bit and expect to be taken on a fun ride thats totally mad and actaully enjoy a movie instad of just ignoring it cos its not serious, if you want a fun and slightly outragious way to spend a couple of hours this is well worth a look in, dont expect fatastic story lines or amazing oscar winning acting just expect that its a bit of fun and you will have it!

I could not disagree more!! This is an excellent entry into the Mummy franchise....the best of the lot..it zips along...great effects, exotic locations, handsome star, sexy supporting lady interest, crackling script, I loved it. Don't take any notice of jaded old professional reviewers...you need to see it in a cinema full of people out for a good time....not surrounded by hacks and scribblers....go see it!

I thought it was pretty good, not as good as the first two mainly for the replaced O'Connels and the lack of aging of Rick. His son was a pain in the ass... but the rest of the film delivered a normal Mummy film. Wild, funny ott and epic. More blame lies on the re-casting than the director, who made a pretty good non-stop action romp. Better than 10,000 BC and much better than the worst recent film and possibly of time; Meet the Spartans.

it was awful! no were near as good as the first one halfway through it think i would have prefered watching the first one again for the 100th time.

The worst movie I've seen in years and I’d like to send a message to Brendan Fraser and everyone else involved in the movie do what Rachel Weisz did and refuse to come back because at the minute she's looking like the smartest person in Hollywood.

It was OK but had many problems. Director Rob Cohen had alot on his plate in terms of taking over the franchise but did his best with what he had. I.L.M did not return to do the visual effects and the results were particularly poor. Not enough Jet Li, even though he had top billing and a good build up to his confrontation with Michelle Yeoh. And yes, all the talk about Maria Bellos' performance as the new Evelyn O'Connell is true. She is not a patch on Rachel Weisz and gave her best from the material she was given. The humour was just about OK but not a patch on the first two films. Once Rachel declined from making the movie, I personally thought they should let the franchise rest and I think Universal should consider it now.

Great film, did what you expected for a mummy film, action, adventure, good popcorn entainment. Don't listen to the boring moaners, if you like the other 2 films, this will not disappoint.

Worst. Movie. Ever. Made.

I couldn't agree more with this review. I was a huge fan of the first two movies, so the instant I heard that Rachel Weisz wasn't doing this one I knew the boat had long since set sail. Bello was hopeless as Evelyn ~what happened to the seductive academic temptress of the night? All this new Eve delivers is flimsy one-liners and a moribund performance. The movie failed on many levels, but it's biggest failure was its inability to charm the audience as the first two did. That's what happens when you try create a flick with flakey cgi action and a deadpan script. On a brighter note, the only reason I give this a two is because of Michelle Yeoh's character who, with her poise, proved to be the saving grace to this downward tumbling snowball of a film.

brendan fraser and the whole oconnel family are awfull...not enough jet li..this review says it all , rubbish...theres one point in the film where the yeti suddenly has all this intellegence and understands english and doesnt attack (john hannah the sidekick) because he says, no no no im one of the good guys..absoloutely ridiculous or those are some clever wild monsters...waste of 1-2 hours of my life..dont let that put you off though lol
