The film rights to the official Dracula sequel The Undead have been sold.

Dracula: The Undead is written by Bram Stoker's great-grandnephew Dacre Stoke and historian Ian Holt.

The story takes place 25 years after the original and features the heroes from Bram Stoker's book being stalked by a mystery character. The novel will be published in October 2009.

According to Shock Till You Drop, Jan De Bont is producing and may direct the big screen project. Holt and Alexander Galant are writing the screenplay.

It is scheduled to begin shooting next summer.
