Spider-Man 2 will be released to IMAX screens around the world beginning this Friday (July 23rd).

An IMAX screen can tower up to eight stories high, with the accompanying digital sound up to 12,000 watts.

"When you have a movie like Spider-Man 2, it makes sense to offer audiences an opportunity to experience the film in this incredible format," said Jeff Blake, Vice Chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment.

Spider-Man 2: The IMAX Experience opens in the US, Canada and Asia on Friday. In the UK, the film can be seen at the bfi London IMAX Cinema and IMAX North at the National Museum of Photography, Film & Television in Bradford from a future date.
