Two adult film companies have been fined $30,000 each by Californian authorities after they allegedly allowed actors to perform without using condoms.

A spokesperson for the state's Division of Occupational Health and Safety told the AP that the two companies - Evasive Angles and TTB Productions - violated a state law requiring employers to protect employees exposed to bodily fluids while working.

"Any bodily fluid is considered infectious," the spokesperson is quoted as saying. "That means barrier equipment must be used."
