Jude Law, Nia Long, Jane Krakowski, Sienna Miller, Susan Sarandon, Marisa Tomei

What do the critics think?
  • Johnny Vaughan, The Sun: "Stylishly shot, Alfie is a treat for the senses. But, like Alfie, it’s a bit superficial. In that respect, it’s true to the original."
  • Jamie Russell, BBC Online: "Law does his best with what he's given - making the most of his trademark stare in the straight-to-camera monologues - but not even his perfect, cocksure performance can make up for the lack of danger as the film papers over anything even vaguely controversial (AIDS epidemic? What AIDS epidemic?). Equally frustratingly, it transforms Alfie from outright cad to merely a silly boy with trust problems. Like its hero, the film looks good but can't commit, talks the talk but has nothing to say."
  • David Edwards, The Mirror: "Director Charles Shyer has turned out a stonkingly good film – a witty, Bridget Jones for blokes comedy that, if there’s any justice, should launch Law as a major star on the other side of the pond."
  • Peter Bradshaw, The Guardian: "Alfie discovers that in the 21st century what it's all about is relationships and commitment. Ho hum. At any rate, Jude Law provides tasty eye-candy for an hour and a half."
