The 40-Year-Old-Virgin and Wedding Crashers picked up five nominations each, including the Best Movie category. The other films in the prestigious group are Batman Begins, King Kong and Sin City.
Steve Carell, who plays the lead role in The 40-Year-Old-Virgin, is himself up for three awards: Best Performance, Best Comedic Performance and On-Screen Team, along with his co-stars.
Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger are nominated for Best Kiss after their encounter in Brokeback Mountain, but they will face stiff competition from Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in Mr. and Mrs. Smith.
