Hoffman in 'Capote' / Sony Pictures
Philip Seymour Hoffman has put his name down for two new projects, according to Variety.
First up is Before the Devil Knows You're Dead, a Sidney Lumet-directed movie about a pair of brothers who fail to rob their parents' jewellery shop. The cast includes Ethan Hawke and Albert Finney.
Second is Charlie Wilson's War, in which Hoffman will appear alongside Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts. The adaptation of George Criles' book focuses on a rogue congressman and CIA agent (Hoffman) who secretly armed Afghan troops in the 1980s.
Hoffman was last seen in J.J. Abrams' actioner Mission: Impossible III.
