James Cameron has confirmed that he will return to the movie-world with a new film.
Avatar will be a 3-D film, using a combination of animation and live action, and due out in 2009.
Cameron has had a ten year break from film-making, although he can still boast the accolade of having directed the most successful movie ever, with Titanic in 1997.
The director is naturally excited by his return to the industry, and claims his new project will be a landmark in the history of cinema.
"We're going to blow you to the back wall of the theatre in a way you haven't seen for a long time," he said. "My goal is to rekindle those amazing mystical moments my generation felt when we first saw 2001: A Space Odyssey, or the next generation's Star Wars."
