Maguire enjoyed 'Spiderman 3' challenge

Tobey Maguire has revealed that it was "fun" to explore a new side to his character Peter Parker in Spiderman 3.

The actor explained that he enjoyed the challenge of filming scenes for the movie which see Parker behaving in a darker and more vengeful way.

"I probably had the most fun doing those [bad Spidey] scenes," Maguire admitted. "It's something I think is kind of unexpected since Peter Parker behaves in some of the ways he behaves."

Director Sam Raimi added: "I want him to be a good person. But when I take a grander view of it, I realise this is something he's got to go through so he can find his truest self. This is a part of himself that had never been explored, these feelings of darkness."
