Adam Brody to play Flash in 'JLA' movie?

Adam Brody has signed to play The Flash in the upcoming Justice League of America movie, according to reports.

The actor, who played Seth Cohen in The OC, is believed to be playing Wally West, nephew of second Flash Barry Allen.

The character was exposed to chemicals while visiting his uncle's police laboratory at the age of ten and became crime fighter Kid Flash. He later develops superhuman reflexes and can run at the speed of light.

Warner Bros has not confirmed the casting, insisting that the film has yet to be given the go-ahead.

Recent rumours suggest that Australian supermodel Megan Gale will play Wonder Woman, with Friday Night Lights star Scott Porter as Superman and Wolf Creek's Teresa Palmer - who was originally reported to be playing Wonder Woman - now taking the role of Batman's love interest Talia al Ghul. Rapper Common is hotly tipped to play the Green Lantern.

The long-awaited movie is based on the DC Comics creation from the 1960s, which featured a crime-fighting team consisting of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman and the Martian Manhunter.

The George Miller-directed film is expected to open with the funeral of Barry Allen, Flash's alter-ego between 1956 and 1986.
