Doug Liman plans 'Jumper' sequel

Jumper director Doug Liman has revealed his mind is in "overdrive" thinking about ideas for a sequel to his blockbuster hit.

Speaking to Collider, the filmmaker said: “I actually have a ton of ideas for the sequel because this is a whole new arena for me and so my mind was in overdrive the whole time. Most of the ideas I came up with we either could tease or just save it for a sequel."

Liman feels "jumpers", who have the ability to teleport anywhere in the world, could eventually acquire even greater power.

"This power can be used to leave this planet, this power can be used ultimately to go back in time, this power can be used if you go and work for the government. You’d be the ultimate Jason Bourne," Liman said.

The director previously revealed that rapper Eminem was close to being cast as the lead in the sci-fi action movie.

Jumper topped the US box office last weekend, pulling in $27 million in receipts.
