Hines joins Heigl in 'The Ugly Truth'

Curb Your Enthusiasm star Cheryl Hines has joined the cast of new rom-com The Ugly Truth.

The movie stars Katherine Heigl (Knocked Up) as a lonely TV producer who is faced with a challenge from a colleague.

300 actor Gerard Butler plays the chauvinistic co-worker, who sets her a series of tests to prove his theories about love.

Hines will take the role of the perfectly-groomed co-anchor of the morning show Heigl produces.

The film reunites director Robert Luketic and screenwriters Karen McCullah Lutz and Kristen Smith, the team behind Legally Blonde.

Shooting on the Lakeshore Entertainment production is scheduled to start next month.
