Zeta-Jones signs for Freundlich's rom-com

Catherine Zeta-Jones will play the lead role in Bart Freundlich's untitled romantic comedy, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Zeta-Jones will star as a single New York mother who catches the eye of her new neighbour, a 25-year-old man. Casting is yet to be finalised for the male lead.

The untitled film will begin shooting on April 17.

Freundlich's previous work includes Trust the Man and Catch That Kid. He is married to actress Julianne Moore.

Zeta-Jones recently appeared in No Reservations and The Legend of Zorro. Her next big-screen appearance will be in Gillian Armstrong's Death Defying Acts.
