Lee to helm Michael Jordan documentary

Spike Lee is to helm a documentary film about basketball legend Michael Jordan.

The director announced at Cannes that he hopes to bring Jordan to the festival with the NBA-financed movie next year, reports Variety.

Lee will co-produce the film, which will include unseen footage from the last two seasons of Jordan's career between 2001 and 2003.

The pair previously worked together on a series of TV ads for Nike's Air Jordan shoe range.

Lee is in Cannes showing footage of his upcoming movie Miracle At St. Anna.
