5 reasons why you should watch Thanks for Sharing online now

Mark Ruffalo and Gwyneth Paltrow are thrown into a sticky situation in Stuart Blumberg's romantic dramedy Thanks for Sharing. While Phoebe (Paltrow) might have some of her own foibles, she soon realises that Adam (Ruffalo) is a recovering sex addict, five years sober. The film is available to watch online now without a subscription, thanks to blinkbox.

Here are five reasons to stop whatever you're doing and watch Thanks for Sharing as soon as humanly possible:

1. Pink!
The filmmakers try to trick us by crediting her by her given name, Alecia Moore, but there is no disguising the actress playing sex addict Dede. It is, of course, Digital Spy favourite Pink. Better known for her music (and some dramatic accompanying videos), Moore pulls out a top performance in Thanks for Sharing.

2. An original take on the rom-com premise
Thanks for Sharing gives us an original take on the usual romantic comedy/drama. Ordinarily, it is the getting together which often proves the problem for a film's romantic leads. Here the getting together part has proven all too easy for our cast, and it's the problems that come after where the film focuses.

3. A strong ensemble
Pink isn't the only one knocking it out of the park in Thanks for Sharing. Ruffalo and Paltrow (making for a mini Avengers reunion) explore the difficulties that sex addiction brings to a relationship with finesse, while wisdom and humour arrive courtesy of Adam's fellow 12 Step Programme addicts Tim Robbins and Josh Gad.

4. Balancing the tragic with the comic
Sex addiction is a serious matter for its sufferers, but at the same time leaves plenty of room open for humour. Blumberg manages the balance well, turning out some top comedy moments (particularly from Gad's Neil) but never straying too far from the human story underneath.

5. Gwyneth Paltrow's lap dance
And if all that wasn't enough for you, we get to see Gwyneth Paltrow working her magic in her best lingerie. The mix of comedy, sexuality and awkwardness in that one scene is not to be missed. The look on Ruffalo's face when presented with something between a fantasy and nightmare is hilarious.
