British directors generally tend to slip into the three categories: the luvvy-duvvy (Richard Curtis), the geezer (Nick Love) and the gritty dramatist (Shane Meadows). So we get quite excited when Neil Marshall, of Dog Soldiers and The Descent horror fame, comes along every couple of years with something a bit different.
His new film Centurion, a bone-crunching action epic about Roman warriors who vanish mysteriously, stars Michael Fassbender, Dominic West, Noel Clarke and Olga Kurylenko and opens in the UK on April 23. Below we have five pics from the movie that show the cast in action...
