Dolph does 'A Little Less Conversation'!

By
In the UK it's down to Graham Norton and Your Country Needs You to find the last-placed contestant a plucky entrant for the Eurovision Song Contest. In Sweden, it's a somewhat different scenario - this year '80s action legend and all round top bloke Dolph Lundgren fronted the country's hunt for a Eurovision representative on a show called Melodifestivalen.

Dolph, as you can see from the video below (the good stuff kicks in around 1m15s), made quite an entrance, undertaking an all-action performance of Elvis's 'A Little Less Conversation'. "I was hosting it and doing these sketches and dancing," the Expendables star told Digital Spy when we quizzed him about the gig. "It was cool coming back to Sweden and the Swedish people kind of enjoyed me putting my career on the line with a song and dance performance - I somehow survived! It was a pleasure."

The video, which has wracked up more than half-a-million views on YouTube, also lets Lundgren display some mad drumming skills along with his patented punch-first-ask-questions-later on-screen ethos. "I used to be a drummer when I was a kid and then I picked it up for Command Performance (*)," he said. "The TV people in Sweden knew about it so they had me play a bit of drums, do some karate."

How about using these hidden talents for a movie? We asked Dolph if there could be a gap in the market for a genre-bending action-musical. He agreed, but with one stipulation: "With vampires in it! Everbody's a vampire these days, they make money."

Hit 'play' below to watch the greatest video you will ever see in your entire life!

(*) Command Performance sees the Russian Premier get taken hostage by terrorists at a rock concert. Dolph is the drummer who comes in to save the day. This is the movie the Die Hard sequels should have been!
