Gareth Edwards on 'Monsters', Tarantino, Banksy

Brit director Gareth Edwards filmed his road trip around Mexico with actors Scoot McNairy and Whitney Able and, using skills he'd honed as a visual effects artist, emerged with a brilliant debut movie in the form of Monsters. It's an inspiring story for young directors, so who better to have as an ambassador for this weekend's 4th BFI Future Film Festival than Hollywood's hottest new filmmaker? DS caught up with Gareth to talk about his encounter with Quentin Tarantino in the early '90s, facing off against Banksy for a BAFTA and the strain Monsters put his computer under.
