'Thor': Ten teasers about Marvel's latest
Published Tuesday, Apr 12 2011, 12:50 BST | By Hugh Armitage | 12 comments

Are you wondering what to expect from the film? Well, here are ten teasers to whet your appetite...
1. Thor disobeys the orders of his father Odin (a very angry Anthony Hopkins) and finds himself casually cast out of their home of Asgard. Thor crashes to earth outside a small town in New Mexico and, more specifically, into the side of Jane Foster's (Natalie Portman) truck.
2. Separated from its owner, Thor's hammer Mjolnir falls to earth and quickly garners the attention of the locals, who partake in a Sword in the Stone-style competition to lift the weapon. Look out for cameos by celebrated Thor scribe J. Michael Straczynski and the creator of the comic, the omnipresent Stan Lee.
3. The government move in on the hammer and Thor goes up against a small army of military types (including sharpshooter Hawkeye) in an action-packed sequence where Hemsworth shows off his fighting training.
4. The film has a more humorous tone than you might anticipate, with more than a couple of surprising and slapstick moments.
5. Hemsworth is a giant. You can easily believe that he grew too big for his first costume when standing next to the diminutive Portman, who seems quite taken aback by his size, too.
6. Loki is not to be trusted (as if we had to tell you).
7. The Asgard set pieces are mind-blowing, from the soaring towers without to the huge throne room within, while the windows open onto an alien cosmos that is truly breathtaking.
8. Be prepared for plenty of human-Asgardian culture clashes. Thor showing his approval of his first cup of coffee by smashing it on the floor is only the first of many.
9. Keep an eye out for the nod to Thor's original alter ego, Donald Blake.
10. Don't expect everything to go to plan for your favourite thunder god.
