Lars von Trier has premiered his latest film Melancholia at the Cannes Film Festival.
The controversial Danish director's science fiction drama centres on two sisters - Kirsten Dunst's Justine and Charlotte Gainsbourg's Claire - who find their relationship falling apart as a giant planet called Melancholia moves towards Earth.
Kiefer Sutherland, Charlotte Rampling, John Hurt, Alexander Skarsgård, Stellan Skarsgård, Brady Corbet and Udo Kier co-star in the movie, which opens in the UK on September 30.
