'Drive': Two extended clips from Ryan Gosling's latest

Two extended preview clips from the film have been made available and they offer a sneak peek at a very different kind of Hollywood fast car movie. The story, based on James Sallis's novel, centres on a stunt man-turned-getaway driver as he gets involved in a botched heist. The first clip below paints a moody picture, with a toothpick-chewing Gosling in silent mode... imagine Steve McQueen's Bullitt mixed with a bit of Michael Mann.
This second clip introduces Bryan Cranston's mechanic Shannon as he asks Gosling to take Mulligan's Irene and her son Benicio home. Refn creates a sunnier atmosphere with an evocative montage, something we've come to expect from him after a cunning use of 'It's a Sin' by Pet Shop Boys in Bronson.
Looks promising to us... and a world away from Fast & Furious 5!
