Rise of the Planet of the Apes revives the science fiction series with James Franco playing a genetic scientist who experiments on Caesar, an ape whose growing intelligence prompts him to lead an ape uprising against mankind. Andy Serkis portrays Caesar through WETA's performance capture technology - the first time the Apes series has used CGI to bring the chimps to life.
