The first teaser poster for The Hunger Games has been released.
Lionsgate Film has unveiled a motion poster for the first instalment in the highly-anticipated adaptation of Suzanne Collins's dystopian trilogy.
The teaser features the gold mockingjay pin that the heroine Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) dons for the titular Hunger Games, a yearly event in which 24 children are selected for a televised fight to the death.
The pin catches fire against a black background before the tagline appears above it, reading 'May The Odds Be Ever In Your Favour', a reference to chaperone Effie Trinket's (Elizabeth Banks) signature catchphrase. Below, the poster bears the film's release date of March 23, 2012.
In addition to Lawrence and Banks, The Hunger Games stars Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson, Stanley Tucci, Woody Harrelson, Lenny Kravitz and Donald Sutherland.
The Hunger Games is currently filming in North Carolina.
