Video: Watch Johnny Depp fool around in 'Rango' B-roll footage

Johnny Depp's animated Western Rango impressed many earlier this year with its quirky lead character and stunning sun-scorched backdrops.
Unlike the majority of CG toons, which confine actors to recording studios, Rango saw director Gore Verbinski put Depp, Isla Fisher, Bill Nighy, Abigail Breslin and the rest of the cast through their paces to act out their scenes in full. The resulting footage and audio was used to shape the final movie.
Digital Spy has an exclusive look at some B-roll footage from Rango, which is released on DVD and Blu-ray on July 25.
