'Final Destination 3' still
There are plenty of scares this week with the return of Ghostface in Scream 4, a dark retelling of a classic cautionary tale with Red Riding Hood, and four Final Destination films on Blu-ray to coincide with the cinema release of Final Destination 5.

Rounding off the releases is the absolutely chilling delightful Winnie the Pooh to break the mould. Below, we list the biggest Blu-ray and DVD releases out today.

Scream 4
Starring: Neve Campbell, David Arquette, Courteney Cox, Emma Roberts
Format: BD, DVD
The movie: After more than one decade since the last instalment, Scream 4 is a decent comeback for the popular slasher franchise. Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) visits Woodsboro for the first time since the events of Scream 3, only to find Ghostface terrorising her as well as a new generation of vulnerable victims. David Arquette and Courteney Cox also return as potential fodder. While not innovative or original and lacking real scares, Scream 4 is good cheesy fun with a boatload of meta jokes unashamedly thrown in. Emma Roberts, Alison Brie, Adam Brody and Hayden Panettiere are among the fresh faces, the latter surprisingly shining as the sassy Kirby.

Final Destination 1-4
Starring: Devon Sawa, AJ Cook, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Bobby Campo
Format: BD
The movie: The idea of Death being portrayed as a hostile entity is what makes the Final Destination series stand out. The appeal of watching powerless survivors being picked off one by one in inventive set-pieces has stood the test of time, as the cinema release of FD5 proves. The films follow a similar formula - a small group survives an opening disaster thanks to a premonition, before Death comes to claim their lives - but there are enough twists and differences that make each one distinct. The Final Destination (aka FD4) is the only dud in the franchise, but this collection is probably worth getting just to see the amazing highway pileup from FD2 again.

Red Riding Hood
Starring: Amanda Seyfried, Gary Oldman, Billy Burke, Shiloh Fernandez
Format: BD, DVD
The movie: Directed by Twilight's Catherine Hardwick, the classic Little Red Riding Hood tale is loosely adapted and given a dark twist. Amanda Seyfried plays Valerie, the titular Red Riding Hood character who resides in a village which is being threatened by a werewolf. There are some similarities with the mega-hit vampire franchise with a gloomy backdrop and a love triangle, but where Red Riding Hood strays from Twilight is that it borrows elements from a typical slasher flick - with people dying and a mystery surrounding the identity of the killer. Fans of Seyfried may consider checking this film out, as she puts in an admirable performance amid the clichéd storytelling.
Bonus features: Chats with Catherine Hardwicke, Amanda Seyfried, Shiloh Fernandez and Max Irons; 'The Reinvention of Red Riding Hood', 'Red's Men', 'Making of the Score' and 'Making of the CGI Wolf' featurettes; casting tapes; deleted scenes; rehearsal clips; gag reel; 'Red Riding Hood in 73 Seconds'; songs 'The Wolf' and 'Just a Fragment of You'.

Winnie the Pooh
Starring: Jim Cummings, Tom Kenny, Craig Ferguson, Travis Oates
Format: DVD
The movie: Pooh returns in this adorable movie, oozing charm that will appeal to young'uns and adults alike. Winnie the Pooh proves that, if anything, there is still a place for traditional animated films. While Pooh and his companions - including Tigger, Rabbit and Owl - try to replace Eeyore's lost tail, a misunderstanding leads to the loveable characters trying to 'rescue' Christopher Robin from a mysterious monster. This is well worth seeing, with the nostalgia heightened by the fact that the writing is faithful and true to the characters.
Bonus features: Deleted scenes including 'The Tummy Song'; 'Rabbit's Friends and Relations' and 'Pooh Searches for a Tail' featurettes; bonus short 'The Ballad of Nessie'; original intros by Eeyore and Tigger.
