Attack of the Clones arrived in cinemas in 2002 with Anakin Skywalker now played by Hayden Christensen, who reportedly beat Ryan Phillippe and Paul Walker to the coveted Jedi role.
A romance blossoms between Anakin and Padmé Amidala (Natalie Portman), while the emergence of the Republic's clone army gave fans a glimpse at how the iconic Stormtroopers came to be.

Episode II, like its predecessor, opened to mixed reviews but still proved a hit at the box office. The Anakin/Padmé romance brought a few titters thanks to its gooey exchanges. Who could ever forget, "I don't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere. Not like here. Here everything is soft and smooth"?
Despite all this, Attack of the Clones featured a spectacular finale and a serious Jedi smackdown between Yoda and Christopher Lee's Count Dooku.
Star Wars: The Complete Saga is released on Blu-ray on September 12.
