'Star Wars' revisited: 'Return of the Jedi' on Blu-ray - video, pictures

Return of the Jedi hit cinemas in 1983 and brought to a close the story of Luke, Han and Leia. A daring rescue kicks off RotJ, as Jabba's palace gets infiltrated and Han is busted out of his carbonite deep freeze.
Luke confronts his father for the final time as he tries to wrestle him away from the dark side of the Force, while the Rebel Alliance take on the Empire in space (against the Death Star Mk II) and on the planet of Endor.

Though it's often seen as the weakest of the original trilogy (Ewoks?!), Return of the Jedi still packs in plenty of thrilling set pieces, emotional weight thanks to Luke and Anakin's reconciliation... and Carrie Fisher in that jaw-dropping bikini!
Star Wars fans would have to wait another 16 years for The Phantom Menace, and that expectation would weigh heavy on George Lucas's prequel trilogy.
Star Wars: The Complete Saga is released on Blu-ray on September 12.
