Steven Spielberg's 40-year movie career has seen him direct crowd-pleasing blockbusters such as Jaws, Jurassic Park and ET, and bag Oscars for his World War II drama Schindler's List and Saving Private Ryan. And let's not forget his part in creating the whip-cracking Indiana Jones series.

8,500,000,000: The accumulated, unadjusted worldwide box office takings (in US dollars) for all of Spielberg's movies.
3,000,000,000: Net worth, according to a 2010 Forbes Billionaire List.
450,000: The budget in US dollars for Spielberg's first theatrically released film Duel. War Horse cost $70 million, while The Adventures of Tintin was a cool $135 million.
1,000: The number of extras used in Saving Private Ryan's blistering Omaha Beach invasion sequence. The scene reportedly cost $11 million to make.
159: The number of days filming on the gruelling Jaws shoot. The shark attack picture was originally slated for a modest 55-day production.
