Hollywood megastar Nicolas Cage is back on the bike for another outing as Johnny Blaze in Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, but did you know his performance was inspired by his pet cobras?
> Nicolas Cage full Ghost Rider interview
The legendary actor demonstrated his snake-like approach to the role, telling us about the "back and forth rhythmic motion like Axl Rose" before launching an 'attack' on our intrepid interviewer. You can watch Cage explain his slithering movements in the video above.
And if that isn't enough for you, we've put together a hypnotic animated GIF of Cage's cobra-possessed hand so you can enjoy it again and again!
Cage's explanation in full: "The cobra is an animal that tends to try to hypnotise its prey.
"It gives you its back and on the back, oddly enough, is something that looks very much like an eye. Almost like the eye in The Lord of the Rings at the end.
"They move back and forth in a rhythmic motion like Axl Rose and then they attack once they think they have you asleep.
"I thought that would look good in the Ghost Rider body language. There was a dignity to Ghost Rider that Johnny Blaze doesn't have.
"I wanted him to be something that [director] Brian Taylor would call a Pharaoh, an ancient Pharaoh that's coming back from another dimension to wreak vengeance."
Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance opens in cinemas on February 17.
