'Dirty Dancing' 25th anniversary: '80s classic in pictures

By
It's safe to say that Dirty Dancing is one '80s movie that has stood the test of time. Still as loved today as it was when it debuted in 1987, Hollywood is hatching plans to remake the film as we speak.

Dirty Dancing was originally a low-budget film with small expectations, but went on to gross over $200 million (£126 million) at the worldwide box office and become the first film to break the one million copies barrier on home video.

This week, Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey's dance classic turns 25, and in those 25 years we've had a re-release, a musical in London's West End and an unfortunate 're-imagining' in the form of Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights. The original film has stuck in people's heads, making Swayze a pinup and giving us the immortal line "Nobody puts Baby in a corner".
