Digital Spy celebrates Stan The Man's 90th with six of his best Marvel movie cameos below...
X-Men: The Last Stand (2006)
Stan cropped up as a hotdog vendor in 2000's breakthrough Marvel movie X-Men and, after being absent from X2, was thankfully restored for the third instalment as one of Jean Grey's neighbours.
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007)
Playing himself in the Fantastic Four sequel, Stan suffered the ignominy of being turned away from the wedding of Reed Richards and Sue Storm, a fate that also befell him and Jack Kirby in the comic story.
Iron Man (2008)
It's a case of mistaken identity in the first Iron Man movie as Tony Stark coasts past Stan (a bevy of beautiful women on his arm) and thinks he's Hugh Hefner.
The Incredible Hulk (2008)
Stan plays a key role in Edward Norton's sole Hulk outing, playing a man from Milwaukee who downs a soft drink that's been contaminated with Bruce Banner's blood.
The Avengers (2012)
"Superheroes in New York? Gimme a break!" Stan's Manhattan chess player dishes out a doozy of a line at the close of Marvel's superhero blockbuster.
The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)
Perhaps Stan's funniest cameo to date, his appearance as Peter Parker's oblivious high school librarian plays out in silence as carnage erupts behind him between Spidey and The Lizard.
