The nominations for the EE BAFTA Film Awards were unveiled this morning with Steven Spielberg's Lincoln, Les Misérables and Life of Pi leading the pack.
Skyfall - still riding a wave of commercial and critical success - also registered an impressive eight nominations, including 'Outstanding British Film' and supporting actor nods for Judi Dench and Javier Bardem.
That said, social media has been abuzz all morning with the 's' word: snub. Daniel Craig and Sam Mendes were both notable omissions in 'Best Actor' and 'Best Director' respectively, while the movie also didn't make the cut for 'Best Film'.
Putting this into perspective, Casino Royale bagged nine nominations in 2007 - including 'Best Actor' for Craig - and eventually walked away from the ceremony with the 'Best Sound' prize.
