'Gangster Squad': Extended trailer released
Inspired by the real-life struggle to take back 1949's Los Angeles from crime bosses, Ruben Fleischer's Gangster Squad has an all-star cast featuring Hollywood favourites Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, Sean Penn and Giovanni Ribisi. Centring around gangster Mickey Cohen, the LAPD creates a secret unit that is willing to use any means necessary to bring down his criminal empire.
'Trance' trailer: Danny Boyle teams up with James McAvoy
Danny Boyle's Trance trailer has been released this week. James McAvoy leads the cast of this thriller by playing an art auctioneer, drawn into a theft at his gallery. McAvoy's character receives a blow to the head, causing him to suffer amnesia and forget where the priceless painting is being stored. Vincent Cassel's gang leader hires a hypnotherapist, played by Rosario Dawson, in a bid to locate the missing artwork.
'The Last Exorcism Part II' trailer: Ed Gass-Donnolly's horror sequel
Ed Gass-Donnolly's horror sequel sees victim Nell Sweetzer plagued by demons once more. Found living wild in Louisiana with large parts of the previous months missing from her memory, she seeks refuge in New Orleans. As she tries to deal with the death of her family and build herself a new life, she soon learns that she can't escape the horror of demons for long.
'Les Misérables' trailer: Movie in cinemas now
Based on the popular Alain Boublil musical, Les Misérables tells the story of Jean Valjean, a former prisoner, who breaks parole and is on the run from policeman Javert. Jean Valjean finds himself agreeing to look after Cosette, a factory worker's daughter, a decision that changes both of their lives. Les Misérables boasts an all-star cast with Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway and Amanda Seyfried in starring roles.
'Skyfall's award chances: Digital Spy talks to Mark Kermode
Digital Spy caught up with film critic Mark Kermode to discuss Skyfall's award chances this season. He told DS that Skyfall will be an interesting one to watch as Bond films don't often fare well with awards, "they're crowd-pleasers and they tend to be slightly neglected by the award ceremonies". He went on to explain that Sam Mendes has reinvented the Bond franchise with Skyfall, making it deserving of being an awards contender.
