It's been 9 years since Mean Girls opened in cinemas and became an instant teen movie classic. Back then Rachel McAdams and Amanda Seyfried weren't big movie stars, Lindsay Lohan wasn't "troubled", and 30 Rock was but a twinkle in Tina Fey's eye.
A duff straight-to-DVD sequel (without any of the main cast/crew, it has to be said) followed in 2011, but that hasn't stopped Fey and Paramount from teaming up to work on a stage musical.
