'Star Trek Into Darkness' video review - open spoiler thread

By and Tom Mansell
Star Trek Into Darkness is finally out across UK cinemas this weekend, and to mark the occasion Digital Spy sat down to discuss the finer details of JJ Abrams's eagerly-awaited blockbuster.

Movies editor Simon Reynolds, entertainment reporter Emma Dibdin and movies contributor Ben Rawson-Jones beamed down from the bridge of the Enterprise (the latter pair even dressing for the occasion!) to go over the hot talking points surrounding the Star Trek sequel.

Topics up for discussion included the evolving relationship of Kirk and Spock, Benedict Cumberbatch's rogue Starfleet officer John Harrison and the future for Star Trek if JJ Abrams decides to step away from the series in favour of Star Wars.

Please note: the first part of this video review is spoiler-free, the second goes into detail about the twists and turns of Star Trek Into Darkness. This will also be an open spoiler thread, so if you're yet to see the film we'd encourage you to come back later to watch the second segment of this discussion.
