In Bruges (2008)
Having established his scabrous, pitch-black style with plays including the Tony and Olivier winning The PIllowman, Martin McDonagh transitioned to the big screen with this brashly comedic, strangely tender tale of two hitmen (Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson) hiding out abroad after a botched job. McDonagh's next, Seven Psychopaths, is due out later this year.
