Equilibrium (2002)
Like a weird hybrid of Fahrenheit 451 and Footloose, this sci-fi action flick takes place in a dystopian future where feelings and all types of artistic expression are outlawed. Bale plays a high-ranking government official who secretly stops taking the drugs which suppress his emotions, and ultimately joins a resistance movement. Reviews were mixed, but as thoughtful sci-fi goes, this really isn't bad.
