Summary: Marla Ruzicka organised a door-to-door campaign to find first-hand accounts of casualties in Iraq, and lobbied the US government to provide compensation. She set up the Campaign for Innocent Victims of Conflict, an organisation which went on to raise £16m to help civilian casualties in Irag and Afghanistan.

Aged 28, she was killed along with her translator when a suicide bomber crashed into their convoy in April.
