Summary: The eleventh film in the series will focus on the formative years of James T. Kirk and Mr. Spock at Starfleet Academy. There is currently no word on who might play the characters made famous by William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy, though Matt Damon's name has been bandied about for the former.

J.J. Abrams (Lost; Alias) will take the helm and will pen the script with fellow M:i:III scribes Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci.
