Shane Meadows, Paddy Considine & Scorz

Published Thursday, Oct 8 2009, 15:55 BST | By Simon Reynolds
Midlands maestros Shane Meadows and Paddy Considine hatched the character Le Donk - an enthusiastic roadie with delusions of grandeur - several years ago in a short. He leaps to the big screen this week with a sidekick, Nottingham rapper Scor-zay-zee. In the improvised comedy, the duo head to Manchester in a bid to win a support slot in front of the Arctic Monkeys. We caught up with director Meadows and stars Considine and Scor-zay-zee at BAFTA headquarters to chat about Le Donk & Scor-zay-zee, a film they made in five days.

Le Donk & Scor-zay-zee opens in cinemas this Friday and debuts on DVD on October 26.
