David Baddiel ('The Infidel')

Traditionally, comedies that deal with religion tend to cause something of a stir. From The Life Of Brian to the controversy surrounding Chris Morris's Four Lions - already taking up column inches a month before its release - there's something about depictions of faith on film that get people riled up. David Baddiel is the latest comic to throw his hat into this particular sub-genre, penning religious identity crisis flick The Infidel for stand-up Omid Djalili (starring as a Muslim man who discovers he was born Jewish). DS caught up with David recently to chat Omid's "big funny face", his hatred for finger "quoting" and not setting out to be blasphemous.



The Infidel opens in select UK cinemas from Friday.
