'Twilight New Moon' director Chris Weitz talks 'A Better Life'

Chris Weitz experienced huge box office success at the helm of New Moon, so after dealing with Twilight hysteria the filmmaker turned his attention to a smaller, more intimate story with A Better Life. The drama centres on a Mexican gardener (Demián Bichir) looking for his stolen truck in Los Angeles and - in a nod to Italian classic Bicycle Thieves - gardener Carlos is joined by his son Luis (José Julián) in the search.

Speaking to Digital Spy, Weitz called the script for A Better Life one of the best he's read in 20 years working in Hollywood and discussed casting the little-known Bichir ahead of Benicio Del Toro and Javier Bardem.
