The Indiana Jones movies cemented him as a screen icon, but now Harrison Ford is trading in his whip for a six-shooter in director Jon Favreau's Western/sci-fi mash-up Cowboys & Aliens.

Ford plays the gruff Colonel Dolarhyde, a war veteran who keeps a tight grip on the town of Absolution. The arrival of Daniel Craig's mysterious stranger Jake Lonergan brings some unwanted extra-terrestrials into the fray and blockbuster mayhem quickly ensues.

Digital Spy sat down with Ford to discuss his initial reaction to Cowboys & Aliens, why he won't tolerate acting lessons on set and what keeps him interested in making movies.
