Rebecca Hall has played supporting roles in high-profile films including The Prestige and Frost/Nixon, but in ghost story The Awakening she is finally unveiled as a formidable leading lady.
She stars as a paranormal investigator in 1920s England hired by Dominic West, who plays a teacher at a haunted school. Talking to Digital Spy, Hall reveals why playing strong female characters is not her thing and why the chemistry with West required no work at all.
First-time director Nick Murphy was also in the interview hot-seat and reveals what inspired him to write a ghost story and why he cast Hall in the lead role.
The Awakening opens in UK cinemas on November 11.
