'The Descendants' Shailene Woodley interview: 'Clooney is superhuman'

Starring George Clooney, The Descendants has been getting a lot of buzz in the lead-up to the Oscars - the film has already won a couple of Golden Globes.

Shailene Woodley is among one of the stars of this touching movie. Rewarded with a Golden Globe nomination herself, she has rightly been picking up praise for a mature and impressive performance as the daughter of George Clooney's land baron Matt King.


Digital Spy sat down with Woodley to discuss her character Alexandra, shooting in Hawaii and working with director Alexander Payne and "superhuman" Clooney.

"I was a bit nervous the first time meeting him, until he came up to me and gave me a giant hug and said 'welcome, sweetie'. Immediately, the nerves went away," she said.

"He's such a genuine guy and so down-to-earth that you feel you're equals. There's no uncertainty or uncomfortableness - he's such a great guy."

The Descendants opens in UK cinemas on January 27.
