Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson and Elizabeth Banks walked the red carpet at the O2's Cineworld as fans of Suzanne Collins's dystopian science fiction novel lined up to meet the stars of the eagerly-awaited movie.
Digital Spy caught up with stars Hutcherson, Hemsworth, Banks, Toby Jones and producer Nina Jacobson to find out the secret to Hunger Games' success.
The Hunger Games centres on Katniss Everdeen (Lawrence), a teenage girl selected to take part in a televised fight to the death against other children from 12 Districts of a post-apocalyptic America (called Panem).
Asked what he thought the secret to the story's success is, Hutcherson said: "It's a world that's very intriguing. The futuristic world and separation of the rich and the poor, and this battle between these children is very interesting.
"I think the characters are very dynamic and [Peeta Mellark] is someone I connected with a lot."
The Hunger Games will open in cinemas on March 23.
