Russell Brand talks 'Rock of Ages', Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin's kn*b

Russell Brand stars in this week's Rock of Ages as the co-owner of grungy rock venue The Bourbon Room, and spends his screentime standing up for the rock 'n' roll cause, speaking in an accent that's somewhere between Brummie and Aussie, and kissing Alec Baldwin.

When we met to chat about his role in the big-screen musical, Brand had a few other things on his mind – notably bringing down the government, the swans on Digital Spy's jumper, and "sucking Alec Baldwin's kn*b".


For much of the interview, Brand was fixated on a member of the crew who will remain nameless, and her professed desire to service Baldwin.

In a rare moment of cogency, he said of Tom Cruise: "He's lovely. He's very amazing, professional, talented, focusing on the job.

"Not like some people, who [when they're on the job] are dreaming about sucking Alec Baldwin's kn*b."

Brand rounded off our time with his unique interpretation of the DS brand.

"Digital Spy? That sounds like you're getting fingered up the bum."
