Whoever wrote this review, you are a complete a**. First of all, "Earth Song" is MJ's worst? What the hell planet do you live on? That is one of the most powerful songs in existence. As for THIS IS IT showing MJ as a freak or weirdo. Alex Fletcher--do us all a favor and QUIT YOUR DAY-JOB. This Is It shows the genius that MJ was and will always be. The film gets 10 out of 5 stars. Alex Fletcher's pathetic review here doesn't even deserve 1 star.

Michael Jackson has been a great figure in the music world, he will continue to do so until the end of time. he represents both black and white races, old, young, rich, poor. he will be missed.

5 stars!!!! What a brilliant experience it was watching the King Of Pop, on the big screen, doing what he does best - rehearsing his brilliant songs with breathtaking dance moves and singing his soul out with the sweetest of voices. You do feel sadness at the thought of what this concert would have been and in my humble opinion, it would have been THE best concert of the decade. MJ was ready to blow the critics, doubters & haters out of the water!!! Whether you are a fan, a cinema-goer or a music lover, go watch this movie and experience the magic & genius of Michael Jackson!

The film was wonderful. The cinema fell silent when the message began at the start of the film. It was so sad knowing all of it was for nothing. The dancing was fantastic, his voice was just as good as it's ever been. I loved the end of 'Beat It' when they jumped up and down and he fell to the floor and kicked his legs in the air. So cute when he was going "Whee!" on the cherry picker. There were so many great moments and makes it all the more sad that he's gone when he was capable of that. I can't wait to get the DVD. For anyone who hasn't seen it, I really recommend you do.

I AM IN TOTAL DISBELIEF AT THIS REVIEW! And, the fact that this person is a "Senior Reporter" makes it that much more disgusting. As a reader, I would never, ever trust another word written by this "reporter" in future reviews, knowing how off base this review was. Did we even see the same movie? I've seen it twice. "Earth Song" his worst material? Seriously, have you even seen the original video? How can you be a human being, living on Earth, and say that a piece of art dedicated to bringing awareness to the state of our planet? I guess you are one of the people he speaks of in the movie, that are counting on the government and "others" to take care of the problem. You clearly didn't do your homework; educate yourself, learn the lyrics and meaning behind a song before you qualify yourself to pass judgement. Lastly, coming from a person who works in the entertainment field, and has rehearsed with her share of bands, calling Michael a "Diva" over the ear monitor situation was almost laughable! Clearly you are commenting on something you know nothing about. He never raised his voice, hurled an insult or stormed off stage as I have witnessed MANY times by diva-esque behavior. He was positive, reassuring those involved that this is what rehearsal was for and that he knew it would be worked out, and he said it with L.O.V.E. So, I'll ask you again, did we see the same movie? I give the movie a 5, as for the reporting, you should be removed from your present position. Effective immediately.

After watching this rehersal and the plans that were in place, I have no doubt that this concert would have been brilliant! Michael's perfectionist style with his music and his performance has not differed from when he first went solo and worked with Quincy. You'll get what I mean if you watch the original makings of his video's on You tube or listen to the comentry on the special edition CD's for Off the Wall, Thriller, BAD etc. When you compare Michael in rehersal to Michael going full out on the finished product, you'll understand why so many have the utmost love and respect for the man, his art, his work ethic and his kind heart. I'm glad I saw this film and sad it never came to fruition.

this review has good points. it was a good idea that mj and ko met to create this concert, jacko always wanted to stretch the boundry of concerts, he wanted to bring the videos he made to work on stage, he wanted visuual effects and not just a normal concert. i have not seen the film yet but reviews have been very good. there wont be another mj for yrs to come, he did mmore than just sing. my kids who are 10 and 7 listen to his misic and watch the vids. he was a classic artist. to be honest who matches his citeria these days. its a shame your gone, but you left this world on a high and jacko this world we live in sucks, we are all greedy and selfish people now, we dont look after our neighbours or friends we dont go to church or bring up our kids well. before we spend time citisizing mj for his looks and behaviour look at your own habits and and actions, are you any better. think real hard before you dismiss my comments.

Earth Song is not his worst material. It's one of my favourites. Would have loved to see the show live.
Diane from St Joe on November 1st, 2009
I thought it was amazing. What a great legacy for his children and his family. Hopefully, at the right time his family can see the joy and happiness in MJ throughout the movie. It was after he passed away that I realized I love his talent and passion for his art.

Thought this film was absolutely fantastic. It would have been, without a doubt, thee best concert ever. Can't wait for the DVD!
Tom from Sheffield on October 31st, 2009
To the reviwer...have you forgotten that this was a REHEARSAL! You speak as if this was a recording of a full show where he was going 100% for it. Of course it wasnt as good as the Bad or Dangerous tour thats because it was a REHEARSAL. Got it?

This is Amazing! MJ still had it up to his final day. It's a damn shame that this concert never came about. It left me with sadness, but also in awe of his genius as a performer, musician, and dancer.

No, that's ignorant! He's not dead, he just has a skin condition.
Laurie, San Francisco on October 30th, 2009
I find it highly amusing that angry fans have reviewed the review ratheer than the movie, which is what the stars are for. If you had realised that the reader average would be at 5 stars, so well done!
sophie, norfolk on October 30th, 2009
It was the most amazing and warmifying movie i have ever seen. There was so much creativity and MJ always pushed the boundaries. 'This Is It' really is the greatest show on earth that never was It's almost unbelievable to think that only a very short time after this rehearsal he passed away R.I.P Michael

Michelle on October 30th, 2009
Earth song amongst his 'worst' material? You must be high. 'This Is It' is an amazing film and if the rehearsals were anything to go by, the concerts would have easily surpassed his 'Dangerous' and 'Bad' tours. This review feels like it could be in a tabloid newspaper, and no, that wasn't a compliment. Shame on you.
kayleigh york on October 30th, 2009
amazing!!!! defo something you would never get tired of watching over and over again. It shows the true colours of the man himself at work and trying to get everything just perfect for the fans, showing he really cares for everyone who he worked with. Always saying god bless you and its all for love, something no other pop singers would say. this is something worth seeing even if you are not a fan because this film might just change your point of view about him.

this review is crap just rememebr thats your own opinion and your not speaking for all of ppl who arent mj fans clearly your not one. there are two types of ppl in this world michael jackson fans and ugly losers. p.s Jackson not 'Jacko' 5 stAR FOR THE FILM REVEIW 1 STAR dimwit
Charles Thomson, London on October 30th, 2009
Although the footage is clearly of rehearsals, and you can tell that Jackson is holding back, the film gives a rough idea of what the concerts would have looked and sounded like. Other songs that would have been included are 'Dangerous' and 'Dirty Diana', which they hadn't got around to properly rehearsing. But, DS, Jackson was not set to reuinite with his brothers in London.
Chris, Aldershot on October 30th, 2009
I'd just like to point out that ill health didn't rob Jackson of anything. The official autopsy listed jackson as "fairly healthy" and his death certificate confirms that he died "at the hands of another". Surely as a "senior" entertainment reporter you should be doing some kind of research??
Shal Norwich on October 30th, 2009
Don't agree with this review, any fan would love this. It was the best, and amazing.

I agree totally with you're review the black and White short film that would be played on giant screens to smooth criminal the thriller sequence was also amazing my advice to anyone who is interested in music or theatre it really gives the normal joe blogs what really goes into making such a concert the technical ability off mj and the crew he surrounded himself they are surely the crem de le crem off the shoebiz industry and it really comes across on this movie it's just a great pity that we will never have seen this is it the movie and mj dosent seem so weird afterall really though go watch this one off special enjoy
jackie Blackpool /england on October 30th, 2009
Saw film weds night and your review is word for word how I would describe it. My eyes were glued to that screen for nearly 2 hrs. At the end I felt I'd had a glimpse of the greatest show that never was. A must see.
james garfield, warrington on October 30th, 2009
it's not sycophantic of a dancer to look up to and dream of working with another dancer, in this case michael jackson. you clearly don't know the meaning of some words that you use. i suggest you become a road sweeper instead of a gossip columnist.

Went to see the film last night - what can I say apart from absolutely awesome. What a fantastic concert that would have been. MJ was a true professional and showman.

Rachel North Essex on October 30th, 2009
At the Beginning you say "Tragically, as we already know, ill health robbed the singer of his final chance to remind the world that there was more to him than pet chimps, controversial court cases and a defunct theme park" One question when he was rolling around on the floor, dancing and around, did he look Ill to you? Yes he was skinny but alot of skinny people have lots of energy. And yet again like every other sill journalist you continue to mention his past which I find deeply irrelevant. the show was about his talent not about what happend to him in the past, mostly false allegations. You mention his "Dangerous" and "Bad" Tours which were undoubtably brilliant but you must maintain the idea that this show had a totally different purpose and I personally believe it would have changed something that need to be changed in the music industry. People would have seen what music is really supposed to be like. and not all this silly rubbish we've heard lately.

I watched the movie yesterday, it's EXCELLENT!!! Great show preparation..... never saw how MJ involved in every detail of the show before .... he's an extra ordinary guy! Unlucky we'll never see the real show ....
