An early script for the fourth Indiana Jones movie which was rejected in favour of The Crystal Skull appears to have been leaked on the internet.
Frank Darabont, whose credits include The Green Mile and The Shawshank Redemption, spent a year on the project before his work was dropped, allegedly at the behest of director George Lucas.
A script purported to be Darabont's final product, titled Indiana Jones And The City Of The Gods, appeared on several websites late last week.
Much of the plot is similar to Crystal Skull, with Area 51, a nuclear explosion and a trip to a lost city all featuring, according to reports.
However, Shia LaBeouf's character is not present and Indiana Jones's father makes a brief appearance. There are also said to be more references to other films in the franchise.
The script - which was later removed from various websites - has been given mixed reviews by those claiming to have read it.
