Renowned special effects and makeup artist Stan Winston has died, aged 62.

He died at home in Malibu, California on Sunday after a prolonged battle with cancer, said a spokeswoman for the Stan Winston Studio.
Winston was an expert in both effects and makeup, with the monsters from Aliens and Johnny Depp's appearance in Edward Scissorhands among his most celebrated work.
He was best known for creating the pioneering life-size robotic dinosaurs in the Jurassic Park franchise and most recently created Robert Downey Jr's suit for Iron Man.
Schwarzenegger said of the news: "The entertainment industry has lost a genius, and I lost one of my best friends."
